THE NEW BEGINNING
Good Day! It is a fresh beginning here in Southeast DC and if you are receiving this newsletter it is because at some point in time the Lord moved upon your heart to give and sow into the lives of teens in Southeast DC through the efforts of Young Life. I want to take this moment to thank you and to let you know that I praise the Lord for you. We have been able to witness the Lord do some incredible things. However, we have not done a great job with sharing those things with you. For that I would like to apologize and also seek your forgiveness. Planting a seed is a very important experience....but being able to witness the fruit bloom is a privilege that sometimes we don't get the opportunity to witness. Fortunately for you and I, there is a harvest here and still to come from our sowing.
I would like to ask for your permission to share monthly a few of the ways that our volunteers have been seeing the Lord at work in the lives of Anacostia teenagers and there families. What is happening here in Southeast is very dynamic and I believe it will be an encouragement to your soul to hear.
I am Chris Chiles, the current Area Director for Southeast DC. You may have had a relationship with my friends who were the previous Area Director's for Southeast DC. I would love an opportunity to meet you face to face and build a relationship. It can be something as simple as coffee before work, breakfast, lunch, or even dinner with your family. I love to eat. I would love to be a guest of yours as you attend service at your church one Sunday morning and get to know you better. Let's re-create and strengthen a family of committed individuals around this community that God's hands are all over in the Anacostia neighborhood.
